It builds on the original Supersonic with new smart sensors and automated features designed to protect hair health while improving styling results.
At its core, the device uses the Dyson Hyperdymium™ motor, which generates a high-velocity airflow for fast drying and precise styling. This is combined with Air Multiplier™ technology, which amplifies airflow to produce a powerful yet controlled stream of air.
One of the standout innovations is the Scalp Protect Mode, powered by a Time-of-Flight sensor. This sensor automatically adjusts heat to maintain a consistent temperature of around 55°C at the scalp, helping to prevent overheating and protect scalp health.
The HD16 also introduces Nural™ sensor technology, which enhances usability and safety through multiple intelligent features:
